Gary Johnson, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is the director of Loring Family's C.A.L.M. Clinic. He specializes in both the evaluation and treatment for adults and children with attention/learning disorders. Gary was one of the original "rabble rousers" concerning the indiscriminate medication of children without the benefit of a comprehensive evaluation.  He has completed over 3000 evaluations and frequently trains other professionals.  Dr. Johnson has taught at a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs and presents at local, national, and international conferences.  He also has consulted for several Fortune 50 Companies using brain based techniques for enhancing performance.

Joanne Search, M.A., M. Ed., L.M.F.T., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Special Education teacher. Joanne developed C.A.L.M.'s original psychoeducational therapy group for adults with Attention Deficit Disorder. Her areas of specialization include psychotherapy with children, marriage and family, clinical hypnosis and women’s therapy groups.  In this picture Joanne is demonstrating that it is still possible to be beautiful while taking a QEEG.

We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have Nancy Foster with us while she finishes her dissertation through Fielding Institute in California.  She is helping train our other graduate students and is the main contact point for questions.  In addition, she will be collecting data this year involving  research on the QEEG and reading disorders.

We hit the jackpot!  Kathy Hall, L.P., L.M.F.T. (after spending her practicum with us all last year) has  agreed to serve as our research assistant.  She will work on QEEG data measuring chemical dependency improvement.  See this smiling face...I wonder much she'll be smiling in the tenth month of writing her dissertation!

Previous staff
Ryan, Joline, Rebecca, Stacie, Leslie, Beth, and Melissa are just a few professionals that we have been fortunate to help train.  We are so pleased to have had such a group a hard-working, caring individuals.  We are either just very blessed or extremely lucky (you can figure that one out!). John, Jason, Jason (two Jasons!) and Todd are students we had from 2008-2009 and can be seen down below.

So to all of our staff, both present and past -- thank you over and over!!!!!!

Gary and Joanne have received training at Harvard Medical School continuing education from Ned Hallowell and John Ratey, authors of “Driven to Distraction” and "Delivered from Distraction". Gary has been following the work of Dr. Daniel Amen for the past 13 years. The entire CALM staff has attended several of Dr. Amen's workshops on SPECT imaging and ADD/comorbid disorders.  Dr. Johnson recently continued his study with John Ratey, M.D. at Harvard regarding "New Applications of Clinical Neuroscience".  He was also a contributing member in Ratey and Hallowell's class "ADD for Professionals" during 2005-2006. A recent highlight was speaking at the 2008 international conference of ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association).
